Asbestos Identification

Identification of Asbestos by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), only NABL Accredited lab in India.

We at ELCA LABORATORIES have always been striving hard to give material testing a new dimension in the Indian market.

We take this opportunity to inform you that we are the first to be awarded the accreditation for

IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTIFICATION OF ASBESTOS

in bulk material by NABL as per ISO/IEC 17025:2005

You are aware that the imports by European, American and Australian customers have mandatory testing to ensure asbestos is not present in any form.

A group of naturally occurring minerals that are resistant to heat and corrosion have been identified as asbestos. A material so widely used till a decade back has notoriously been found to be cancerous so much so that 52 countries have banned the use of materials containing even traces of asbestos.

PLM ( polarized light microscopy ) is the most prominent method to identify presence of asbestos in various gaskets, partition materials , tiles etc. ELCA has invested heavily and has achieved a high degree of proficiency in this; and rightly so is the only NABL accredited Lab in the country to identify presence of asbestos.
